What is this test?

Tripment Health Diet Panel combines all the elements of theFitness Panel and Stress Panel, to provide an even broader view of how you can take control of your overall health. These tests focus on cholesterol levels and thyroid health, while also evaluating certain hormones, blood sugar, and vitamin levels. The following tests are included in this panel:

  • Glucose (blood sugar) – Glucose is the chief source of energy for your cells. Blood sugar abnormalities can go undetected for a long time, and can lead to unexpected weight loss or weight gain.
  • Hemoglobin A1C – Hemoglobin A1c measures the average amount of blood sugar (glucose) level for the past two to three months. Pairing a glucose test with a hemoglobin A1C test can provide a more accurate view of what’s going on.
  • Vitamin D – Abnormally low levels of vitamin D in an otherwise healthy individual could signify malabsorption conditions, like Crohn's disease or even cystic fibrosis.
  • Testosterone – Testosterone tests aren’t just for men. This hormone is important for muscle and bone development across genders.
  • Lipid Panel – The Fitness Panel also includes the four tests that make up the Lipid Panel (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides). Many people have genetic predispositions to high cholesterol, which can lead to cardiovascular troubles down the road. It’s important to catch cholesterol issues early in life.
  • Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) – This hormone plays an important role in regulating stress and metabolism. Abnormal levels of TSH could indicate a problem with your thyroid.

Frequently asked questions

The Diet Panel works by collecting a blood sample and measuring levels of vitamins, hormones, and other substances that can contribute to your ability to gain or lose weight, or develop muscle.

You may wish to order a Diet Panel if you’ve struggled with gaining or losing weight, despite having a healthy lifestyle, or if you have trouble gaining muscle mass even if you workout regularly.

You cannot take a Diet Panel at home — this test can only be administered by a medical professional at a licensed testing facility.

Once you receive the results of your Diet Panel, you will need to consult with your provider. Only a medical professional can advise you on the results and help you develop a treatment plan if necessary.

Blood sugar and hormones levels can fluctuate over time. However, they do not change significantly due to age alone. Big changes in hormone levels often indicate an underlying condition.

There are no special requirements for the Diet Panel. Your provider will draw a blood sample from a vein in your arm. Diet Panel results typically take 3-5 business days to process.

The cost of a Diet Panel listed on Tripment Health is transparent and final — you will never be asked to pay additional fees at the testing facility, or receive a surprise bill down the road.

Tripment Health has partnered with nearly 7,000 lab test facilities across 48 states. Finding a Diet Panel is easier than ever. Add the lab tests you need to your cart, then select a testing facility conveniently close to you.
