  • CLIA Certified Labs
  • Best Price
  • Digital Report

This test is useful for assessing kidney damage, especially at an early stage, and informing management and prognosis of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

  • Sample Type: Urine
  • Results: 1-6 days
  • Age: 18+

The Microalbumin test looks for very small amounts of albumin (a blood protein) in your urine. Albumin is produced by your kidneys, and can leak into your bloodstream if the organ becomes damaged. It also measures creatinine, a byproduct released by the muscles that the body filters out through urine. Microalbumin tests are frequently performed on patients who are diabetic or have high blood pressure – conditions that increase the risk for kidney disease. No fasting is required for this urine test.

No special preparation is required.
